The Kiwanis Club of Wilton is proud to welcome our newest member, Jean L’Allier, into the Kiwanis family. Born in Paris and raised in Minnesota, Jean practiced law in and around New York City for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Helen, have called Wilton home for 35 years, raising their children through the Wilton public school system. Now recently retired, Jean is embracing this next chapter by writing a novel and playing tennis daily — an active and well-earned new season of life.
As the story goes, Jean found himself in the dental chair of Dr. Greg Chann, Wilton dentist and longtime Kiwanian, when he made the casual mistake of asking how he might give back to the community after a lifetime of commuting. That conversation — perfectly timed while seated in a fully reclined position — led to an invitation to serve. The rest is history. If you’re curious which dental instruments helped secure that “yes,” you’ll have to ask Dr. Chann yourself. We are thrilled to welcome Jean and look forward to the experience, perspective, and community spirit he brings to our club.
