Wilton Kiwanis Presents $3,000 Check to Rise Against Hunger

Mary Anne Franco, Chair of the Wilton Kiwanis Contributions Committee, recently presented a $3,000 check on behalf of the Wilton Kiwanis Board, Contributions Committee, and membership to support the annual Wi-ACT Rise Against Hunger meal-packaging event. This year’s contribution represents an increase from the club’s $2,000 donation last year.

The one-day Wilton event is the largest Rise Against Hunger event in New England. Each year, approximately 700 Wilton-area volunteers come together to package about 150,000 meals for children facing hunger worldwide. Over the past 18 years, the Wilton community has packaged approximately two million meals.

This is one of the many community-building events Wilton Kiwanis is proud to support. We are grateful to Wi-ACT and Rise Against Hunger for helping make the world a better place and strengthening the Wilton community.
