Meeting/Lunch at YMCA – June 24, 2026

Kiwanis Presents $10,300 Signature Project Grant to Wilton Land Trust

At today’s meeting, the Kiwanis Club of Wilton proudly presented a $10,300 Signature Project grant to the Wilton Land Trust. Accepting the award were Whitney Beaman, Executive Director; Craig Johnson, Board President; and Mark Rice, Treasurer.

The grant will fund the replacement of trailhead maps and cartography at three Wilton Land Trust preserves Chestnut Meadows, Harrison-Smith, and Gregg Preserve as well as the replacement of a collapsed kiosk at Gregg Preserve. As a Kiwanis Signature Project, the initiative supports community-building efforts and enhances public access to some of Wilton’s most frequently visited natural spaces.

Founded in 1964, the Wilton Land Trust has worked to conserve the landscapes that define Wilton through open space preservation, habitat restoration, and environmental education. Today, the organization manages 837 acres across 86 preserves and maintains approximately 15 miles of trails throughout the community.

Kiwanis Contributions Chair Mary Anne Franco noted that this project would not have moved forward at this time without Kiwanis support and described the grant as an investment in the well-being, resilience, and future of the Wilton community.

The Wilton Kiwanis Club is honored to partner with organizations such as the Wilton Land Trust that help make Wilton a better place to live, work, and enjoy the outdoors.
